6th & 7th graders shared their photographs

On Monday May 18th at the Auburndale Public Library in Queens, Magic Box photography students at JHS 194 participated in the grand opening of their photo exhibit documenting faces and places throughout Queens, NY. The students worked in our after school CASA program using traditional digital cameras as well as handmade "Bigshot" cameras they assembled themselves.

The exhibit will be on display for the public during regular library hours through June 11, 2015.


"Building Cameras and Community" is an  after school program in which students learn to assemble Bigshot digital cameras to use to document their community.

The program was made possible by a CASA (Cultural After-School Adventures) grant generously provided by City Council Member Paul Vallone, Queens Council District 19.
