On Tuesday March 1, the NYC DOE Office of Arts and Special Projects, the Mayor’s Office for Media and Entertainment, and Magic Box Productions, presented at The Paley Center for Media the first of three exciting Blueprint: Moving Image Professional Development offerings for 2016.
The attendees enjoyed a very engaging day where , inspired by current events, they used a variety of techniques to create original media projects. The workshops were followed by a peer-led review and critique process:
Debate Footage Reframe/Remix - How to use imovie to re-examine recent Presidential debate footage, for different outcomes and audiences.

Live Action Fractured Fairy Tale - What happens when you take a well-known fairy tale and change the classic elements? Participants used their imaginations to create their own non-traditional video fairy tales for students.

The top TV writer Robin Thede was the Key Note Speaker and she shared how current events, social commentary, and peer review works in the world of NYC’s late-night comedy news show "The Nightly Show".
