UNDER THE SEA ADVENTURES

4th graders at PS 84 re-imagined the seminal film by Georges Melies, "Trip To The Moon". They turned the film upside down and instead of traveling to the moon they traveled to the bottom of the sea. In this clip, contestants vie in a test of strength to be chosen for the submarine!

Dear Friends,

We are all in this  together.  Our staff at Magic Box wants to help as we all learn how to navigate during this challenging time.

Even though schools and other outings are closed, each week we are going to  share new ways that kids of all ages can use media arts and technology  to exercise their creativity!

In   today's video (seen above), 4th graders from PS 84 in Manhattan  use green screen, sound effects, and graphics  to journey to the bottom of the sea.

Here is a  complete lesson  on how to create your own green screen adventures at home!

When you're done, upload your artwork to social media with #shareyourmagic and make sure to tag us!

And for even more undersea adventures, go to the  Maritime Aquarium's  live Facebook Q & A with members of the Animal-Husbandry team at 3:00 p.m. now through March 29th!

Have fun, stay well, and we'll  see you soon!
